Look at the hair on your comb. Most of it broke.
The hair on your pillow, in the drain, wound around your comb. You assume it fell out. Look closer. If the strand has no little white bulb at the end, it did not fall from the root. It snapped. Dry hair, rough hair, hair you dragged a comb through. It breaks halfway down and lands in your hand looking exactly like hair fall.
That is the part you can actually do something about, today, with a good onion hair oil. And it is the reason your hair looks thinner than it is.
What this onion hair oil does. It conditions the hair fibre so it stops snapping. Softer hair, fewer split ends, less breakage when you comb, a scalp that does not feel tight and dry, and visibly more shine. It is light, it is not sticky, and it comes out in one wash, which is the only reason you will still be using it in month three.

What changes, and when
No vague promises. Here is the honest timeline, based on what a conditioning oil physically does to a hair fibre.
| When | What you will notice |
|---|---|
| First wash | Hair feels softer and slippier. The comb stops catching. This one is immediate, because conditioning happens on contact. |
| Week 1 to 2 | Less hair coming away on the comb, because less of it is snapping. The scalp stops feeling tight and itchy after washing. |
| Week 3 to 4 | Ends look less frayed. Frizz settles. Hair holds a shine instead of looking dull and flat by evening. |
| Week 6 to 8 | Hair looks fuller, because you are keeping length instead of losing it to breakage. Ponytail feels thicker in the hand. |
Use it two to three times a week. That is it. No routine to learn, no six-step ritual, nothing to remember.
You already know hair oiling works. You stopped because of the grease.
Every Indian household knows hair oiling. Your mother did it. Her mother did it. And almost everyone quits by their twenties for the same reason: you cannot go to an office, a class or a client meeting with oily hair.
So the bottle goes to the back of the shelf. You use it before a holiday, maybe. Then never.
That is not a discipline problem. That is a formulation problem. Most hair oils are heavy with mineral oil and silicones, which sit on the hair as a film instead of absorbing. Two shampoos later it is still there.
This one is built the other way round. No mineral oil. No silicones. It absorbs rather than coating, and one wash with a mild shampoo clears it. Oil it on Sunday night, wash Monday morning, go to work.
An oil you actually keep using beats a better formula you abandoned in week two. That is the whole argument, and it is the one thing you can test for yourself the very first time.
What is inside this onion hair oil, and what each one is doing
Onion leads it, in a base of black seed and coconut oil, with fourteen botanicals worked in. Not a label-filler list. Here is the job each one is there to do.
| Ingredient | Why it is in the bottle |
|---|---|
| Onion (Allium cepa) | The hero of the category and the reason this formula exists. Rich in sulphur compounds, and sulphur is what keratin, the protein your hair is made of, is built on. |
| Coconut oil | One of the few oils that genuinely penetrates the hair shaft rather than sitting on top. This is the workhorse behind less breakage. |
| Black seed (kalonji) | A light, fast-absorbing oil. A large part of why this does not feel heavy. |
| Bhringraj | The classic Ayurvedic hair herb. In Indian hair care for centuries for a reason. |
| Amla | The traditional conditioner. Hair that feels stronger in the hand and combs more easily. |
| Neem & tea-family botanicals | For the scalp. Flaking, tightness, that itch after a hot shower. |
| Aloe vera & hibiscus | Moisture and slip. The reason the comb glides instead of dragging. |
| Rosemary, fenugreek, curry leaf, brahmi, shikakai, henna, ginseng, arjun | The supporting cast of the Indian hair-oil tradition, each long used on scalp and lengths. |
A note on the number. The carton says fifteen. Two of them, hibiscus and gudhal, are the same flower, Hibiscus rosa-sinensis, with gudhal being its Hindi name. So we say fourteen distinct botanicals. We would rather show you our working than repeat a number we cannot stand behind.
How to use it
The comb applicator matters more than it looks. Oil poured into your palms ends up on the lengths and on your hands. The comb puts it where it is meant to go: on the scalp, along the partings, right down to the roots.
Why this onion hair oil and not the one that costs half
A hundred rupees buys you a hundred millilitres of something. Here is what the difference is actually made of.
| Cheap onion oil | This one | |
|---|---|---|
| Base | Usually mineral oil, the cheapest liquid on the shelf | Black seed and coconut oil |
| Feel | Heavy, sticky, sits on the hair | Light, absorbs, non-greasy finish |
| Washing out | Two or three shampoos | One |
| Silicones | Common. They fake smoothness | None |
| Applicator | Plain cap, pour into your hand | Comb applicator, straight to the scalp |
| What happens | Used twice, then forgotten | Fits into a working week |
And against a premium brand at five hundred rupees, you are mostly paying for television advertising. This is ₹199.
Who this is for
- Anyone whose hair breaks: snaps mid-length, frays at the ends, comes away on the comb.
- Anyone who gave up on oiling because everything felt greasy for two days afterwards.
- Oily scalps that still want conditioning on the lengths without adding more weight.
- People who wash their hair often and need an oil that comes out in one go.
- Students and office-goers oiling the night before a working day.
- Men and women both. All hair types. Safe on coloured hair.
What is not in it
- No mineral oil, the cheap filler that makes oils feel heavy
- No silicones, the fake smoothness that builds up and will not rinse
- No sulphates
- No parabens
- No added colour
Leaving silicones out is exactly why this rinses clean. It is also why the softness you feel is your hair, not a coating on it.

Questions people ask before buying
Is it really non-sticky, or is that just marketing?
It is the one claim on this page you can test in a single evening, which is why we lead with it. There is no mineral oil and there are no silicones. Those two are behind almost every heavy, film-like hair oil you have used. Oil it tonight, wash it out with a mild shampoo in the morning, and judge for yourself.
Will this stop my hair fall?
It will stop a lot of hair from breaking, which is a large share of what most people are actually seeing on the comb. What it cannot do is change how many hairs leave your scalp at the root. That comes down to genetics, hormones, thyroid, iron and stress, and no oil reaches any of those. If your shedding is sudden, heavy or patchy, please see a doctor rather than switching oils. Our guide to what causes sudden hair fall covers the usual triggers, and DermNet explains the different patterns of shedding.
How long until I see a difference?
Softness and easier combing from the very first wash. Noticeably less breakage within one to two weeks. Hair looking fuller takes six to eight weeks, because you are keeping length rather than growing new hair overnight.
Does it smell of onion?
No. It has a light herbal aroma and washes out with shampoo. Crushing an onion onto your scalp at home is a completely different experience from a formulated oil, which is rather the point of buying one.
Can I leave it in overnight?
Yes. One to two hours is enough, and overnight is fine if that fits your week better. Use an older pillowcase. Longer than overnight adds nothing.
Can I use it every day?
Two to three times a week is the sweet spot. Daily oiling does not speed anything up and tends to leave the scalp congested, especially if it is naturally oily. The American Academy of Dermatology says much the same about over-treating hair.
Is it safe on coloured or chemically treated hair?
Yes, as a pre-wash oil. Leave at least a week after a colour or a chemical service, and patch test behind the ear first if your scalp reacts easily.
Men or women?
Both. Nothing in the formula is gender-specific, and the comb applicator works just as well on short hair. Arguably better, in fact, since it reaches the scalp directly.
Is 100 ml enough to be worth it?
At two to three uses a week and a small amount each time, a bottle lasts most people six to eight weeks. That is under ₹25 a week for the full course.
The short version. Your hair is breaking, and breakage is the part an oil can genuinely fix. This onion hair oil conditions the fibre so it stops snapping, settles a dry scalp and brings back shine. All in a 100 ml bottle with a comb applicator, light enough to wash out in one go, so you are still using it in month three instead of hiding it at the back of a shelf. ₹199.
